About this Project

OKGN WMAN Angel Funds invests in Canadian women-led and gender diverse businesses solving pressing social problems.

Women-led and gender diverse teams achieve significantly higher financial performance, yet women receive less than 3% of start-up capital. OKGN WMAN identified this gap and works to address it by investing across a wide range of sectors. At the same time, members increase financial savvy and build networks with other funds across Canada to source deal flow and resources for funded ventures.

OKGN WMAN came to me at the beginning of their journey and together we created the brand identity and a custom website designed to attract both potential ventures as well as like-minded female investors.

A key element of the website is the photography highlighting the women involved. The goal was to create an editorial style image that separated OKGN WMAN from more cliched board room style photos. I worked with photographer, Darren Hull, to create images that can be used across a variety of materials.

OKGN WMAN is a partner in the National Women’s Initiative, a strategy dedicated to mobilize angel capital for women led-companies across Canada. The initiative is led by the National Angel Capital Organization (NACO). NACO has partnered with angel funds, including OKGN WMAN, to help women entrepreneurs access funding. As part of this initiative, OKGN WMAN developed 30 spotlight profiles of women investors from across their funds. I created a designed report that can be downloaded from their site.
